About

I was born and raised in Shallow Lake, Ontario, a small rural community nestled between Sauble Beach and Owen Sound. Alongside my older sister and brother, I grew up on our family’s beef farm, spending my days outdoors and learning early on the value of hard work, creativity, and connection to the land.
I later moved to Waterloo, Ontario, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and Art History from Wilfrid Laurier University. A lifelong learner at heart, I went on to complete a Diploma in Interior Design at Fanshawe College and a Certificate of Master Cake Decoration from McCall’s Cake School in Toronto.
Today, I live just outside Waterloo in New Dundee, where my husband Oz and I raise our four children on a small farm alongside pasture-raised pigs, sheep, and chickens. Rural life continues to deeply influence both my creative practice and my appreciation for slow, hands-on making.
Art and design have always been central to my life. Over the years, I’ve explored countless creative outlets—from drawing and sketching to cake decorating, quilting, and painting—but it was felting that truly captured my heart. In 2011, after purchasing a felted artwork by fellow artist Jennifer Budd, I was inspired to take a workshop with her a few years later. Since then, my passion for felting has only continued to grow.
I am drawn to the rich, saturated colours of wool and fibre, the tactile textures, and the meditative, hands-on process involved in creating each piece. Working with wool is deeply therapeutic for me—it’s a personal retreat that allows me to close the studio door, slow down, and create with intention.
Teaching felting workshops has become one of the most rewarding parts of my practice. Sharing this art form and helping others discover their own creative potential brings me immense joy. I love inspiring students to create meaningful, beautiful pieces for their homes while embracing the process and possibilities of felting.
If you’re interested in learning more about working with felted wool, or in adding one of my pieces to your collection, I’d love to connect.
